Registrations Open for Warren County Sheriff’s Office Polar Plunge

For the 13th consecutive year, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is raising money for Special Olympics Iowa by participating in the Polar Plunge on February 23rd.

Teams of ten will jump into Lake Ahquabi in Indianola, with prizes given out for best individual costume and team costume. Chief Deputy Randy Spurr tells KNIA News the event raises money for a great cause.

“There are a lot of individuals with intellectual disabilities and we want to raise money for awareness and so they can participate in more activities and be included. They participate with us in this right alongside us, and it’s fun to see the courage they have and it gives us courage and strength to keep doing what we are doing.”

Registration for the event is available now online, and costs $75 per entry with a t-shirt and meal included. Registration will also take place the night before and on-site. A link to register can be found below.
