The Indianola girls and boys basketball teams step out of conference play tonight traveling to in-county rival Carlisle.
The boys are on a four game winning streak and stand at 5-1 on the season only falling to Norwalk. Evan Gauger and Quinn Vesey have picked up the majority of the scoring load as expected, but the contributions of Garrett Aiello and Matt Deike (Dike-e) have been important as of late, as they scored 12 and 9 points playing key roles in the wins against Pella Christian and Dallas Center-Grimes. The girls are 3-3 and face a similarly styled Carlisle team that has dropped three straight. The scoring trio of Kendall Clatt, Mara Bishop, and Lauren Blake have carried the Indians so far, as they average over 32 points combined. The games can be heard live on the KNIA2 stream on KNIAKRLS.com, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame begins at 5:45 and tip-off is at 6pm.
