PCM Splits Pair with Roland-Story

The PCM Mustangs split a pair of games on the road at Roland-Story Tuesday with the girls falling 58-29 and the boys winning 66-56.

The girls would come out cold from the field trailing 19-11 after the first quarter and never gett closer trailing 33-16 at the half before falling by 29. PCM lead by junior Regan Freland and her 16 points will head into the winter break at 3-6 overall and Head Coach Jeff Lindsey knows the schedule isn’t getting any easier for his Mustangs. Lindsey tells KNIA/KRLS Sports every other game for the Mustangs is a game with a ranked opponent and his Mustangs just need to go out and play the way they know how while having fun at the same time.

In the boys game PCM would start hot and lead 18-12 after one before the Norsemen of Roland-Story would make a run late in the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 29 at the break. The Mustangs lead by senior Reed Worth and his 23 points would explode offensively in the 3rd quarter and lead by 12 after three quarters of play. The offense would stay hot in the 4th pushing the lead to 18 before Roland-Story would once again make a late run to get the lead down to 8 before PCM would secure the game from the free throw line and go on to win by 10, 66-56. The Mustangs will head into the winter break at 6-2 and will next play January 4th at South Hamilton a team that was a state qualifier a year ago.
