Marion County Development Commission Seeks Top 10 Under 40 Nominees

The selection of Marion County’s most promising young business people isn’t just about honoring their achievements; it’s meant to encourage them to stay, and to draw others like them to come to the area.

From now until December 28th, nominations are being accepted for the Top 10 Under 40; this is the second year for this event, which will choose among the up-and-coming employees or entrepreneurs in Marion County who are already having an impact on their companies and on the economy.

Carla Eysink from the Marion County Development Commission tells KNIA/KRLS News the ones who get chosen can stand as an example to others looking for success, and help attract workers and companies to an area which has plenty of room for both.

“We like to tell the stories of our young professionals, whether they be in business or education or health care, whatever industry,” Eysink says. “Those young professionals are great stories to tell to help market to other professionals; but it’s also about acknowledging the wonderful contributions they’re making to our communities, and encouraging them to continue to do so.”

Anyone between the ages of 18 and 40 living and working in Marion County is eligible for consideration; they can place their own names in nomination, or others may do so on their behalf.

Anyone looking to do so should contact the Marion County Development Commission for more information.
