Knoxville Man Faces Felony Count in Domestic Case

A Knoxville man faces a felony count of domestic abuse assault, from an altercation earlier this month in which the victim was reportedly choked.

Forty-five-year-old Monte Brown is charged in connection with an incident on December 5th, around 12:30 a.m. in the 100 block of South Second Street.

Knoxville police say a third party reported the domestic altercation; officers were told by the victim that Brown had grabbed her by the throat several times during the incident, making it difficult for her to breathe.

He had left the residence before officers arrived, and was taken in after a warrant was issued.

Brown also faces a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse assault causing injury, in a separate incident two days later. This reportedly happened in a vehicle, and a witness contacted authorities; officers say they questioned the victim shortly afterward, and she had fresh injuries on her face.
