Central’s Borman Nominated for Cliff Harris Award

Central College football safety Jordy Borman was announced as a nominee for the 2018 Cliff Harris Award.

The Cliff Harris Award is presented to the nation’s top small college defensive player from an NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III or NAIA school. The Central defensive back is one of 59 finalists from Division III and one of 129 finalists overall. Borman had six pass break-ups to go with his team-high six interceptions.

Borman recorded 44 tackles, including 21 solo stops. Against Loras College on November 10, Borman forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. He was named third team all-West Region by D3football.com after the season as a special teamer. A first-team All-American Rivers Conference selection, Borman was named the league’s defensive performer of the week after he snared three interceptions in the season opener against the University of Northwestern-St. Paul.

The Cliff Harris Award was presented last year to Michael Joseph, defensive back from the University of Dubuque. The winner of this year’s award will be announced Dec. 24.
