Panthers Double Their Fun In Bloomfield With Sweep Of Davis County

The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad took a 12 point half time lead and blew it up to a 33 point victory over Davis County last night 63-30 while the boys’ second quarter was the difference in a 61-45 win over the Mustangs last night as heard on KNIA. The girls’ defense was the story as the Panthers did not allow Davis County a double digit quarter the entire game while outscoring the Mustangs 36-15 in the second half. Davis County got the lead down to eight early in the second half, but threes by Marley McKay and Katie Keitges upped the margin to 14 and it grew from there. Keitges tallied 23 points on the night to lead Knoxville, who improves to 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in the South Central Conference. The boys got a big first half from Tyler Vaske with 16 points four long balls, then it was R.J. Roberts’ turn to shine in the second half with seven of his 17 points to help Knoxville stay perfect on the season with a 61-45 win. While getting outrebounded, the Panthers kept Davis County’s post play to a minimum on the scoreboard. Knoxville is now 4-0 on the season and the same record in conference play. The Panthers host Eddyville-Blakesburg on Friday with first place on the line in the SCC in the boys game.
