Knoxville’s Helping Hands to Benefit from Winter Wonder Run

Helping Hands in Knoxville will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from a 5K run coming up next week; and organizers are still welcoming sponsors and registrants.

The Winter Wonder Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. in front of Knoxville High School; participants can run or walk the 5K course, and all money raised will go to help the food pantry.

Chuck Galeazzi from Helping Hands tells KNIA/KRLS News he’s glad to see teens taking an interest in helping out the community, and urges people wanting to give to Helping Hands to take part.

“If there’s anybody in the community that’s interested in donating to Helping Hands, this would be a nice time to come out; they can donate there on Saturday the 15th and run or walk or whatever they want to do in that 5K run,” Galeazzi says.

Runners and walkers can register on site the morning of the run. Cost to register is $20 and those under 18 will need a parent’s signature to participate. All runners will receive a T shirt commemorating the event. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is scheduled to be at the event, playing music and making announcements to the crowd.
