Pella Christian Basketball Team Dangerous from Deep; Jungling Leads the Way

It has been a roaring start for Pella Christian’s key deep-range shooter on what might end as the most prolific shooting team in the state this season.

Dan Jungling has fueled the Pella Christian office with his pinpoint three point shooting to start the season. The 3-1 Eagles are the state leaders in three pointers made (46 in four games), and Jungling currently stands at 17 makes, which is tied for the best in Iowa, and he has done so on only 28 tries (60.7% efficiency). Head Coach Larry Hessing tells KRLS Sports the junior not only improved overall as an athlete, but made a small tweak in his shot during the offseason that has springboarded his early success.

“Dan, when he got run off the three point line last year, he had a little bit of trouble, and we thought it was basically because of a little bit of a flaw in his shot that was taking too long to get off,” Hessing says. “So Dan was open-minded, and broke his shot down and rebuilt it in the two months after the season last year, and he put in the time and now it’s better then ever.”

Pella Christian will need to shoot well with defending Little Hawkeye Conference co-champions Norwalk ahead of them on Friday night in a road game that can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
