The Pella Community School District continues to roll out enhanced building safety measures this year, and at their most recent meeting, the board looked to make those changes permanent in the district handbook.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling tells KRLS News the district has tightened the access visitors have to entering buildings to ensure someone is indeed waiting to see them when they check into the office. Ebeling says Madison Principal John Steddom is working district-wide and with other districts and law enforcement in Marion County to roll out other safety measures.
