Knoxville Public Library Reminds Users About Temporary Location

Renovation at the Knoxville Public Library has been going on for some time, and the library continues to operate out of a temporary site…but to the frustration of the staff, some would-be users still don’t realize that.

Even though the main library is cordoned off and clearly marked as a construction site, there have been a few cases of people trying to get onto the property to either check out or return material. Others are under the impression the library is completely dormant until construction is finished, and have complained about its closure to various authorities.

Roslin Thompson from the Knoxville Public Library tells KNIA/KRLS News staff continues to remind people they are still in operation, and will remain so until the renovation work at the library is finished.

“We still do get a few calls about people asking where we are located; and we are located at the former East Elementary School which is on Washington Street,” says Thompson.

Even though they’re operating out of a different location, there are plenty of activities going on during the month of December. You can find out more on today’s edition of Let’s Talk Knoxville.
