A new City Clerk will be sworn in at Monday night’s Knoxville City Council meeting; Tricia Kincaid will take the oath of office as she takes over the post temporarily filled by Assistant City Manager Heather Ussery.
The city will also formally recognize the city of Warrnambool in Australia as a sister city; Warrnambool is in the state of Victoria, and is also a hotbed of sprint car racing.
The sister city arrangement will make official an informal agreement between the two cities to promote tourism and business through their shared interest in racing.
And Mayor Brian Hatch will also read a proclamation marking the 50th anniversary of the advent of Home Rule in the state of Iowa.
Monday night’s meeting convenes at 6:15 p.m. and can be heard live on AM 1320/FM 94.3/FM 95.3 KNIA.
